Is this insurance?
No. SkyTails is not insurance. It's a dedicated savings and investment account for your pet. Unlike insurance, there are no premiums, no claims to file, no coverage limits, and no denials. It's simply your money — growing and accessible whenever your pet needs care.
Can I take out money at any time?
Yes. Your balance is accessible whenever you need it, with no restrictions on what you use it for — as long as it's for your pet. Vet visits, grooming, emergency surgery, training — all covered.
Who manages my portfolio?
Your portfolio is managed automatically. Contributions are invested by Matty.ai (our Registered Investment Advisor partner) via Alpaca Markets. No human makes discretionary decisions about your account — and all assets are held in custody by BMO (Bank of Montreal).
What happens if I have multiple pets?
Each pet gets their own separate account within your SkyTails profile. You can have different contribution amounts and plan types for each pet.
Who holds my money?
BMO (Bank of Montreal) is our custodian. Your assets are held in a segregated, regulated investment account.
How is SkyTails regulated?
SkyTails operates under an SEC Internet Advisory License (IAL). All investment recommendations are generated by a deterministic, auditable system — every factor is documented and explainable. Trades are executed by Matty.ai, an SEC-registered Registered Investment Advisor.
