PetSmart Charities & Hill’s Pet Nutrition Hosted Nationwide “Find Your BOO” Adoption Week

Published: October 20, 2025

Last week, from October 20 to October 26, PetSmart Charities and Hill’s Pet Nutrition teamed up once again to bring families and pets together through their annual National Adoption Week.

The Halloween-themed campaign “Find Your BOO” invited families across the U.S. to visit PetSmart stores and meet thousands of adoptable pets looking for their forever homes. The event celebrated connection, compassion, and second chances for animals in need.

A Mission That Matters

In 2024 alone, 5.8 million animals entered shelters across the U.S., a number that reflects both the ongoing challenges of pet overpopulation and the continued dedication of rescue organizations working tirelessly to change that.

PetSmart Charities, one of the nation’s leading animal welfare funders, organized the event to make adoption more visible, accessible, and joyful. With the help of Hill’s Pet Nutrition and local shelters, the campaign turned PetSmart stores into temporary adoption hubs, making it easier than ever for families to find their perfect match.

Why Adoption Events Work

Adoption events like this do more than connect pets with homes, they help build awareness around responsible ownership, educate first-time pet parents, and ease the overcrowding crisis in shelters.

Families had the chance to:

  • Meet adoptable cats and dogs in person

  • Learn about each pet’s background and needs

  • Receive guidance from shelter staff and volunteers

  • Access starter packs and resources for new pet parents

Many locations even featured festive Halloween decorations, themed giveaways, and special adoption incentives to make the experience fun and memorable.

SkyTails’ Takeaway

At SkyTails, we love seeing national efforts that combine community, compassion, and education to promote adoption. Events like PetSmart’s “Find Your BOO” week remind us that every adoption is more than a rescue, it’s the start of a new story.

Each time a family chooses adoption, they’re not only saving a life but also creating space for another animal in need.

As we move into the holiday season, we encourage pet parents and supporters to keep that spirit alive, by volunteering, donating, or simply spreading awareness about the power of adoption.

Because every pet deserves a safe home, and every family deserves the joy that comes with finding their “BOO.”
